Why do some people support big business when they ship jobs overseas and hire illegals for better profits?
If the smaller companies want to leave the US because they don’t want to give health-care to their employees let them go (Obama). We will be just fine without their greed (McCain).

GREED
Most Republicans are greedy.
brainwashed into believing that it is free-market economics, when in reality the government creating trade agreements isn’t free-market economics.
would you prefer there was no business in the US. you forget these companies employ millions of americans.
Congragulations you just defined the word republican.
Why do we bitch about our 401(k)’s when they don’t?
They ship jobs over seas because the taxes are cheaper and wages are cheaper. I suppose since you seem like a fair person, you think that people in other parts of the world shouldn’t be allowed to have jobs? Or that the government should force business to bring jobs to the USA? That isn’t going to work. You need to provide incentives otherwise companies will not be in the USA and they will ship their entire operation overseas.
I hate to see questions like this because it indicates many people have little understanding of small business. I assume they believe these small business owners have deep pockets and are making a great deal of money. Its true some are doing very well. However, a good case in point is what’s happening today. Look around and you will see many small companies that have closed up shop. Their profit margins are very tight and in some cases it doesn’t take much of an economic down turn to put them on the ropes. Your comment implies all small business can just shake the money tree and come up with additional resources to absorb higher cost (wages, taxes, health care, etc). So we will be better off if these small businesses ( which create the major of jobs in the US) just close up and leave the country. You need to see reality and not just believe everything you hear.
Why do you think companies like BMW have factories in the US? Because, to the company, it is cheaper to build their product with American labor than to strictly use German labor.
If the Government would stop making it harder and harder for businesses to compete for AMERICAN labor, then maybe they would stay.
Healthcare is not something that businesses should be required to give - it should be an optional perk that will have qualified people competing for the same position.
If an individual is well-qualified for a job and wants insurance benefits, he/she has the right to shop around for those positions that are financially stable enough to provide these benefits for their employees. I believe that a job market with varying degrees of employee benefits is a healthy one.
Because they can find better and less expensive labor oversees. If the American worker can do a job better it will be done here in the states. Look what we are good at and look at what can be done overseas. It is called comparative advantage.
Because they are fooled to believe the discredited “trickle down” ideology. According to conservatives, when you give big businesses tax-cuts, they expand and hire more people. The problem is that it has never worked like that. Typically when you give big businesses tax-cuts, they just take it as profit, which makes the rich richer.
In addition, in order to balance the government budget, you either have to increase the tax on the poor and middle-class, or cut spendings, or run a deficit (printing of money) which leads to high inflation (this has been the Bush approach - see price of fuel and food). This problem makes the poor even poorer, which leads to a higher income disparity between the rich and poor. This has been the road the US has been going down since the 1980s.
The primary problem is that the media is owned by big business. CNN for example is owned by Time/Warner, ABC by Disney and MSNBC by Microsoft and General Electric. When you control information you have the ability to undermine democracy, leading to a skewed system. The US system is skewed towards Corporatism (also known as the Corporate Welfare State), where the poor subsidize (give welfare to) the rich.
For example energy companies such as Exxon get $2.6 billion in government subsidies despite the fact that they are the most profitable businesses in human history.
Because some people love to beat themselves up - then we’ll blame it on B!
Because those people are uneducated tools who only know what rush windbag tells them.
Fear
They fear that they will be next.
There’s a difference between greed and not wanting to give your hard-earned money to people who don’t try to better themselves and live off government handouts. Can’t you see that?
That said, I do not support outsourcing our jobs (to an extent), or the hiring of illegals. In fact, I’m pretty sure the Republicans are staunchly against immigration.
